voodoo 2.0

A quick break of radio silence to point out that there are a surprising number of voodoo sorcerers marketing themselves to the myspace generation.

More Great Moments in Advertising

Is this some kind of subliminal "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" allusion?

Halo Darkness my old Friend

When Angie and I were on vacation we visited the Mayan ruins of Tulum. They are breathtaking and strange, but as we wandered around I couldn't shake the feeling that I'd been there before. It took me a while to place it, but I realized that it felt like a mix of the Warlock and Sanctuary maps in Halo.

Which might explain why I found this ad so moving.

Between Halo 3 and a new baby, I will probably never be heard from again.

Also -we've just launched a site at work for a book called The Electric Church. Check it out. The book is all gunplay and cyborgs and bad religion. Which is to say sweet.

Harry Potter, lost in Mexico

Also, I wasn't really interested in the final Harry Potter book, but this essay on Snape by Orson Scott Card has forced me to reevaluate everything I thought I knew about the books (and about Card)
