A bet?
Update
See? One Two Three Four down. And no takers on the taxidermied head. I'm telling you, go out and read Cloud Atlas now, before it wins and you're forced to take a defensive posture against the wave of booklogger hype.
A Bet?
So I'm going to go ahead and call this one for Cloud Atlas.
If Jessa Crispin loves her Alasdair Gray she's going to dig Mitchell. That takes Atlas into the semi-final round, where it will easily beat I Am Charlotte Simmons. In the finals it will face either Jonathan Strange or Plot Against America, and in a pile on of 14 lit-hip bloggers Mitchell's innovation will carry the day. If anyone would like to place a bet, I'm willing to wager a creepy painted possom skull by Sarina Brewer, (value $65) on Atlas for artwork of equal or greater aesthetic value.
And yes, I am deeply ashamed that I am at all interested in any of this, and also that as a child I laughed at the end of old yeller.
Also: writing static has a brilliant picture for his livejournal. AMELIE vs ALIEN.
