This is way too wierd right now. Who is the female voice/spirit?? Don't recall any little items that Aayan was supposed to give out. This is truly a mystery. I am going to have to go back and read again to see what I may have missed.

Found it....the nose ring. ha ha ha.

What is going on here ???

The metal thing is Nilla's melted nose ring that she gave Ayaan back in Part two: chapter 19. I remember that as it shocked me that Nilla seemed to be aware of Sarah and Ayaan and also of the Tsar's plan. Yet she tried to remain as inconspicious as possible during the whole trip. I remembered thinking that she was the most 'human' of all of the liches, and now we know why.

I am impressed, Dave! You left us enough clues and hints that had us all micro-analyzing Mael's intentions and manipulations and kept us from scrutinizing Nilla's place in all this.

The sense of despair that was built up throughout the entire chapter was suddenly lifted by Nilla's calming voice. She is the last thing left in Pandora's box after a host of evil escapes to plague mankind... hope!

I'm holding out some hope that Nilla is not as much of a monster that Mael thinks she is. Not everyone's hand has been played yet. Two chapters left. I feel some big surprises coming on.

Remember, Nilla was once willing to destroy the Force to save humanity, even if that meant ending her own existence. She tried but it didn't work. I cannot see her now going along with Mael. She became increasingly independent of him in MN. She's her own lich.

Very cool chapter. I was feeling bad for Sarah, talk about taking a hard hit. It's her fault Mael's going on with his plan. I guess Sarah wont sanitize Ayaan because Mael is about to sanitize the world.

It's interesting. Do you suppose that in the same way Mael has been setting up this elaborate plan to use the various "players" in the world to help him destroy hummanity, Nilla has been setting up an elaborate plan to use Mael to destroy the source?

Well, I'm not sure what will happen. It seems that Nilla may have a choice to make. She still seems to hold some of her humanity. But Gary is still out there. So is Osman. So is Bannerman.

Whatever happened to the old doctor that used to live at this place? Did he die of starvation or kill himself after Nilla uplugged his wife?

AKK!! Noooo! What the hell is Nilla doing now?? AUGH!!

Mr Wellington, you are a truly evil person, i can't remember the last time a story messed with my head so much. Can't wait for the last two chapters. No, literally, can't wait. Gah.

YYYYAAAYYYY!!!!
Whoo hoo Mael!!!!
If I wasn't so lazy I would bow down before the delightful wickedness of Mael.

Double-yay to Nilla though. If I wasn't busy worshipping Mael I would bow down to Nilla.

Dave I cannot wait to see what you have in store for these two brilliant characters.

Oh and Vikram's the secret weapon, isn't he? And he's on Nilla's side.

I just have to give it all up for the James Bond style explain-my whole-dastardly-plot-so-that-you-can-figure-out-just-how-to-stop-me ending
